Also known as Napa cabbage. Plant each seedling 8” apart in the row, with rows 10-12” apart. Once planted, keep well-watered; do not let the tiny roots dry out! Provide light shade if possible. Fertilize weekly with a dilute mix of fish emulsion and liquid kelp (aka seaweed) to promote quick growth and healthy plants. Best eaten once plant reaches mature size mid- to late-October, but these cabbages also last well into winter under winter protection such as a low tunnel hoop house.
